In an effort to ensure timely drafting of the new constitution, the 27 parties of the CA have begun endorsing the 127 decisions taken by the High Level Taskforce.

The parties endorsed the progress made by the Taskforce regarding the reports of Committee on Determination of Forms of Governance and on Determination of the Form of the Legislative Organs. Today’s meeting, held under the chair of CA Chairman Subash Nembang, endorsed the Taskforce decision on forms of governance and legislative bodies without any change, said Vice-Chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The parties approved the decision to make an independent and accountable judiciary and appoint judges of the Supreme Court through independent bodies.
