Mixed result in wushu
Two wushu players entered the semi-final round in the South Asian Games in Sylhet.
Alina Chaudhary beat Rosana Hanif of Pakistan in 48 kg sansau and Jharana Gurung defeated Molani Pathihasa of Sri Lanka in 60 kg sansau. All the semi-finals will be held Friday evening.
Meanwhile three male players were beaten in the quarter-finals. Prem Darlami lost to Sri Lanka’s Iveshekha in 70 kg sansau category and Bir Singh Tamang was beaten by Dammika of Sri Lanka in 66 kg sansau. Sunny lama was also defeated by Pakistani Najif Farvej in 52 kg sansau.
In taekwondo, Nepali women players Manita Shahi and Ayesha Shakya were kicked out in the first round. Taekwondo’s pre-judging round took place on Firday and main events will start from Saturday.
