Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) in Nepal is setting an example by holding celebrations for the 713th Swiss National Day not in Kathmandu but in Charikot. SDC has been in Nepal for 50 years and has been involved in development infrastructure, forestry and farm skills development with a lot of its activities centred in Dolakha district. SDC's partners in the district and former members of parliament will attend the celebrations on 1 August. "It will recognise the friendship that development cooperation has created between Nepali and Swiss people as well as the hope that peace will return soon to Nepal," SDC said in a statement.
