The death toll and loss from the Maoist insurgency as it stood on 26 July, the day prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba took office, three days after he and Maoist leader Prachanda agreed on a temporary truce:

Killed: 1,807 (50 killed in July) Maoists: 1,060
Police: 440
Ordinary citizens: 307

Abductions/detentions
Police: 182 (6 killed, 82 freed, 94 are still in custody, 22 freed from the Rukumkot post have not reported to their bases yet, of the 69 police prisoners in Rolpa, ten have reportedly been released but their whereabouts are not known.)
Maoists: Over 300 in police detention.
Ordinary people: 500 (25 killed, 288 freed), 187 still being held as captives.

From people: Rs102, 801,000
From banks: Rs134, 599, 000
Does not include taxes and voluntary contributions collected by Maoists from businesses and individuals.
