The meeting between the king and Sher Bahadur Deuba comes at a time when it is agreed that Prime Minister Koirala is leading the country to disaster. The king met Deuba at the rice-feeding ceremony of Prince Paras' daughter recently. They spoke for almost half an hour. Sources say the king ignored the prime minister, other ministers, heads of constitutional bodies and political heavyweights, remaining engrossed in conversation with Deuba. No one knows for sure what was discussed, but Deuba must have told the king that it was because of Koirala that the nation was in such a bad state. Reports say Deuba also spoke with the king about the Lauda Air issue and the Maoists.
