The global impact of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington are beginning to reflect on tourism here. Arrivals for the first ten months of the year fell by roughly 14 percent. Indian arrivals fell by about 29 percent and third country tourists by about eight percent. The October arrivals, which directly reflect travel plans after the terrorist strikes in the United States and the war in Afghanistan, were 34 percent lower compared with the same period last year?Indian tourists were down by 50 percent and third country visitors by 30 percent. The only nationality that saw an upturn were Belgians, with 13 percent more arrivials.
