Rajendra Rai in his letter (#78) says the Gurkhas fought the two world wars for "freedom". This is laughable, what utter nonsense. The Gurkhas have been exploited internally as well as externally for their valour, loyalty, kindness and simplicity-from the time of Prithivi Narayan Shah's unifying venture, as Ram Limbu in the other letter points out.
