CK Lal's deft portrayal of our arrogant ruling oligarchy ("Remote control.", #121) reminded me of Bhairab Aryal's essay "Mapai" in which the inimitable satirist dryly notes that each person believes himself to be an elephant and the rest he-goats, or a giant and a pygmy, respectively. Then, he makes this devastating observation: Who is to tell us whether we are a crowd of elephants or he-goats? Also, I think a better acronym than Lal's "MOB" is SOB: soldiers, officialdom and big business.
