London ? A colourful annual fund-raising dinner by Help Nepal Network (HeNN), a UK-based charity, brought together 100 Nepalis and their families living and working in the UK. Over ?1,200 was raised during the event, including a donation of ?695 by student Anil Thapa who raised the amount by participating in the British 10K open road race in July. Since September 1999, HeNN has raised over ?23,000 from branches in Austria, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Nepal, New Zealand, UK and USA. The money is directed mainly into health and education projects in Nepal. HeNN also supports Sahara in Nepalganj, which works for the rehabilitation of children orphaned during the insurgency, and is involved in constructing a health post in remote Mugu district.
