Hemlata Rai quotes me in 'More power to the villages' (#144) as saying that I am skeptical about community involvement in rural electrification. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am a member of Nepal Electricity Authority's Board of Directors and I am a very active member of the team spearheading to communitise rural electrification. We are working on formulating a policy and necessary legal framework for the purpose. I actually told your reporter how enthused we were by the response of various communities in this respect, including mobilising investment from the community itself.
