Land, ho!

KAILALI-Indian and Nepali authorities are not doing anything to prevent Nepali land from being encroached upon by people from across the border. Indian authorities have installed new border posts at Parasain VDC, and local residents are furious. Indian officials say the new posts are where the surveys shows they should be. One old post number 94 has been replaced by number 773, which is three km away from the original spot. Farms belonging to many Nepali families are now in India. About 10 bighas of land belonging to a community school has also been encroached upon. Kathmandu has remained silent on this issue making it easier for India to intrude. Even the political parties are quiet.
