The Nepal Pavilion is purpotedly one of the most popular and highly visited sites at the Shanghai Expo. Too bad we couldn't be as organised and efficient and build something like this right here in Nepal- what a wonderful centerpiece this would make to a town or city in our country. Posted

At first glance of the picture I thought the structure was somewhere in Nepal, possibly Boudha. It was really amazing to see such clean and elegant pavilion in China. I am sure it gave a very inspiring impression to the Chinese and wanted many to visit Nepal. But the truth is that the country has gone to the gallows with all the political wrangling prevailing in the nation. My heart bleeds to say that but it is fact. As a matter of fact Nepalese can survive on tourism only like many European nations. We can have climate, health, cultural, environment, religion, adventure, and myriads of types of tourism. For example we can convert Janakpur into a Hindu marriage hub and invite the Indian Tourists to come and tie knots there. When it is extremely hot in India, we can get the tourists to come and cool down in the towns of our hills and mountains. We are blessed with culture, history, and diverse terrain. We have millions of temples like Mukti Nath, Pasupati Nath, Boudha, Swayambu, Changu Narayan, Mankamana. The only thing lacking is the political will and an enabling environment to develop tourism. Above all we have one of the most classical cities in the World, Bhaktapur and Patan, living cities of medieval era. All tourists who have visited these cities have appreciated them. We have a blend of culture of Hinduism and Boudhism, the most unique in the world. Not forget the Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. As a matter of fact we can aim at catering to 3 million tourists a year and build the infrastructures accordingly. But the sad state of affair is that the already built infrastructures like hotels, restaurants, and others are on the verge of closing down due to extortion, strikes, unions, and security. Posted

Shameless non-Buddhist organisers on tax-payers' money went to Shanghai and strung the Tibetan prayer flags the wrong color sequence. Such flags are always hoisted blue symbolising sky on the higher side and the yellow on the bottom symbolising earth, Such stupid people have made a mockery of Buddhism and damaged the image of Nepal's culture. The prayerflags are wrongly hoisted. According to Tibetan Buddhism it is blue first and then yellow last. Blue is for sky and yellow for earth. Highest or higher part should have blue flag. What a gross mistake? What an embarrassment to our country? Who are these so called experts who went to Shanghai? Posted
