Member of the government team for talks with the Maoists and Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Pradeep Gyawali has said that preparations are being made to hold the second part of the peace talks this week. Minister Gyawali has said that the talks this time will focus on implementing the ceasefire and managing the Maoist rebels and their weapons along with other political issues such as steps needed to head towards constituent assembly.
Speaking to Himalkhabar.com Gyawali said, Since we need to come to a conclusion once we sit down for official talks, we are currently discussing the agreement informally. Preparations are being made to hold the talks by the end of this week.
The first round of talks held between the Seven Party Alliance government and the CPN-Maoists had concluded with an agreement on a 25-point code of conduct to be observed during the current ceasefire.
