Thank you for publishing the article about System of Rice Intensification (SRI), ('The miracle is it's no miracle', #256). I could also hardly believe the claims of the SRI practice when I first read about it in an international magazine four years ago. I decided to try it out myself with some farmers here in the mid-west and we were quite pleased with the results. I hope this article has generated some interest among those involved in the agricultural sector in Nepal. Why not try it out yourself? I believe SRI has great potential with farmers in Nepal and it is gaining momentum. I would like to mention that there is a Nepal SRI Network.
