Re: 'We're not whores' (#218) by Naresh Newar. It is a shame that Nepal's labour law enforces patriarchal values and the notion of power by forcing women into sex work. The call to regulate undocumented labourers and decriminalisation of women's work in cabin restaurants and registering them is not new. We should continue to debate the issue and lobby for appropriate laws and gender sensitive policies so that clients and restaurant owners don't exploit women and they get the wages and other benefits they are entitled to under the labour law. Only then can women be saved from predator employers and delinquent clients.
