Many thanks for reprinting Pico Iyer's 'Tibetan reflections' (#219). In July, I chanced quite, literally, accidentally upon a unique publication called Kyoto Journal. Its 57th issue carries an article, 'On the ropebridge' also by Pico Iyer. Since it is a long essay, Iyer paints Tibet's ancient, modern and her latest situations in a composite portrait. The piece you outsourced should be read in tandem with or after the longer and previous one. I expect these two essays are included in Pico Iyer's latest book, Sun After Dark. Tibet is Nepal's next-door destination, leading to the northern lights, and it is assumed that Nepali tourism entrepreneurs and captains of business and industries are aware of this all-important fact.
