Kathmandu will have seven digit telephone numbers from 13 March. NTC says it will add a 4, 5 or 6 in front of existing numbers for Kathmandu. For example, if you want to call Nepali Times in Patan, you will now have to dial 5-543333. Numbers in Kathmandu will add a 4 and those in Bhaktapur have to add a 6. Numbers outside Kathmandu will go up to six digits, but area codes remain the same.
