Three Nepali teenage footballers reported "missing" on 5 August have turned themselves in at Oslo's Central Police Station and applied for political asylum. The details of their claims for refugee status are not known. The number of asylum seekers in Norway has been growing after the escalation of the Maoist violence, but the Norway Post reported the Director of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration as saying that no Nepali has been granted asylum so far this year. The girls-Pashupati Rana, Ganga Gurung and Sushila Susmil-were members of the Nepali squad at The Norway Cup tournament. (See also "Nepal's girl footballers", #103.)
