I enjoyed CK Lal's piece on Bangkok "Thai Lessons" (#103). The next time he visits Bangkok, I would recommend that he take a trip to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to see a glimpse of a little Nepal inside an academic institute far from home. There are currently 150 Nepalis at AIT, three of them are professors. Perhaps no other foreign institute has been as beneficial to Nepal: more than 650 Nepali graduates are AIT alumni.
