Rotten piles of trash are piling up in Kathmandu and Patan again. This time it is because the landfill along the banks of the Bishnumati and Bagmati have been disrupted because of the recent floods. In addition, there appears to be disarray at the municipalities after the elected mayors and councils were disbanded by the government two weeks ago. What we are worried about is this: is the garbage going to remain on the streets until we elect a new mayor?
