Further to Lhakpa Sherpa's article on the 25th anniversary of the Sagarmatha National Park ("Sagarmatha National Park turns 25", #99), I offer documentary proof of the timber poaching going on outside the park boundaries to feed the demand for logs in Namche Bazar and other towns. Here is a picture I recently took at Phakding of timber for sale in Namche and Khumjung. The logs are all from the Ponya forest in Jubing.
