The eighth meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation for Law SAARCLAW) concluded early this week. The theme of the conference was "Good Governance for Development". Alongside, a meeting of the Chief Justices of South Asia also took place. This is the second conference in Nepal since SAARCLAW was set up in 1991. Speaking at the inaugural, Secretary General of SAARCLAW, Bharat Raj Upreti, said Nepal faces the worst examples of vice and corruption, amorality and lust for power, and that the meeting should try to find ways to end corruption and restore the confidence of the common people in the law.
