In a bid to enhance foreign investment and commerce in Nepal, the Nepal-Britain Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) was established during Robin Cook\'s official visit earlier this year. But the post of office secretary seems to have been given to an Indian national, Charan Gupta.
Reliable sources say, Gupta has been advising British investors to invest in India and not in Nepal as it is safer and has sure returns. Gupta was appointed to the post by Rajendra Khetan, son of Mohan Gopal Khetan. Rajendra Khetan not only appointed Gupta to the post but has also given him other responsibilities like making him the chief of the loan department in Himalayan Securities and Finance Ltd (HISEF).
