Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of UCPN (Maoist) left for a week-long visit to China on Sunday afternoon. Speaking to journalists at Tribhuwan International Airport , Dahal said that the visit would be focused on Nepal’s economic prosperity and stability. “We need to take initiatives to benefit from our neighbours’ economic progress,” he said.
Dahal also stated that he was visiting China as the coordinator of the High Level Political Mechanism and would seek support from China for free and fair Constituent Assembly election.
During the week long visit Dahal is scheduled to meet President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and other high ranking officials. Pushpa Kamal Dahal will also be visiting India after returning from China.
