The government has decided to revive the licence of Nepal Water and Energy Company for the Trishuli-1 project. The cabinet’s Economic Infrastructure Committee has given the company 18 months’ licence to complete its Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and manage fund for the project.
If Nepal Water and Energy Project fails to complete the agreed upon duties in the stipulated time, its licence will be revoked. Its licence had been scrapped earlier by the Ministry of Energy on 3 July citing the end of its five year survey licence.
