Bomb explodes in Janakpur

ज २ प ९३९५ While the Madhesi front is engrossed in drafting constitution, a Terai based armed outfit Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha has carried out a an explosive attack in Janakpur’s Ramananda Chowk on Monday morning. A Ja 2 Pa 9395 number motorcycle parked infront of a crowd who had gathered to enforce banda exploded killing at least four people and injuring a dozen.

Mithila State Struggle Committee had called for a strike in the district on Monday and the deceased had gathered to enforce banda. Among the dead are theater artist Ranju Jha, locals Bimal Saran, Suresh Upadhyay and Jhagaru Mandal . Saran died on the spot while the other three succombed to their injuries while being treated in the hospital. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital and the number of fatalities may go up further.

After the explosion JTMM sent texts to local journalists claiming responsibility for the attack and said the attack was a warning to the Madhesi parties who are conspiring against the people of Madhes.
