An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit eastern Nepal today morning. Tremors were felt in Taplejung, Panchthar, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari and Siraha at around 5.25 am (NST).
National Seismologic Center at Kathmandu has confirmed that the epicenter of the quake was at Jhapa. No casualty or damage has been reported so far.
This is the third quake to hit eastern Nepal since the 6.8 Ricther earthquake of last September. The second earthquake was on December which was felt in parts of Taplejung district and measured 4.9 on the Richter scale.
