The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN (UML) on Friday unanimously approved the party’s ‘internal unity consolidation proposal’ presented by party President Jhalanath Khanal.
The meeting concluded at the party’s central office Madannagar, Balkhu discussed on the proposal tabled by the party chairman before the approval, said party Secretary Shankar Pokharel after the meeting.
The proposal has stated that the intra-party unity is a must for strengthening of the party and to make its presence more effective in the national politics.
Urging all the bodies concerned to become honest and move ahead together for the completion of the peace and constitution drafting process, the proposal has highlighted the need of mobilizing the entire potential within the party, holding broad discussions and talks for uniformity in the party policy and ideology and forging consensus in the national politics.
Through the proposal, the party has pledged to adopt the people’s multiparty democracy and take an initiative for bringing all the leftist parties into the same ground for its implementation.
The meeting also decided to place party leader KP Oli in the third position in the party’s hierarchy.
All the decisions made by the Standing Committee meeting will be presented in the upcoming politburo and central committee meeting of the party, added party secretary Pokharel.
