Wait and see

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has urged the Nepali Congress (NC), second big party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), to join the government to accomplish the twin tasks of peace and constitution.

Newly elected Prime Minister Bhattarai said this at a meeting with the NC President Sushil Koirala at latter’s residence at Maharajgunj on Tuesday morning.

President Koirala said his party will not join the government in the current state but will provide constructive cooperation to the cause of peace and constitution.

‘We will closely monitor the Maoist commitment to accomplish the peace process within 45 days’, added President Koirala. Nepali Congress has adopt a ‘wait and see policy’ towards the present government’s to conclude the peace process, promulgate the democratic constitution and implement the past accords and agreements.

President Koirala urged Prime Minister Bhattarai to create environment of trust for consensus by fulfilling the commitments to implement past agreements.
