The politburo meeting of the UML today decided to take initiative to amend the seven-point deal inked between the party chairman Jhal Nath Khanal and Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on February 3.
The decision of the politburo meeting will be presented in the central committee meeting tomorrow for its endorsement.
Publicity Department Chief of the party, Pradip Gwayali told the media after the meeting that the UML has urged other parties not to doubt seven-point deal as its main theme was peace and constitution.
The amendment of the seven-point deal will include proposal to settle issues of army integration by the army integration special committee and to hold talks with other parties on power-sharing.
However, Vice-Chairman of the party, Bam Dev Gautam said that seven-point deal was endorsed as per the clarification made on 15 February. He added that it would be appropriate for the leading party to handle the Home Ministry. “In order to make the government an all-party government, the UML will work together with the Nepali Congress and other political parties.”
