Maoist Standing Committee meets

The Standing Committee of the Unified CPN (Maoist) has decided to combine the three political documents presented by the top three leaders at the party’s sixth extended plenum in Palungtar, Gorkha.

As per the schedule, vice-presidents of the party, Mohan Baidhya and Baburam Bhattarai, will comment on the report again. Chairman of UCPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said that he would come up with a single political report by incorporating all points of consensus.

Dahal stressed on concluding the peace process and constitution drafting according to the aspirations of the people and warned of a revolt in case of any obstacles. He also added that national and foreign reactionary forces are conspiring to stop the writing of a progressive constitution in the favour of the people.

Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said that the plenum will continue till Saturday evening.
