The term of the high-level taskforce formed on 11 October has been extended by 11 days. A meeting of 27 parties held on Sunday took the decision so as to help the taskforce meet its objective. The task force was expiring this Sunday.

CA Speaker Subash Nemwang had initiated the taskforce to resolve contentious issues among the political parties that have hindered the constitution drafting process. 220 issues of disputes have been identified so far in 8 of the 11 thematic CA reports.

Maoist leader Dev Gurung also presented the details of the works carried out by the taskforce during the meeting. The taskforce is headed by Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal who is on a 4-day visit to China.
