Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Upendra Yadav, said that the political problems will not be solved even if prime ministerial candidate Ram Chandra Poudel withdrew his candidacy.
“Until an agreement is forged between the UCPN-Maoist and the Nepali Congress regarding the post of prime minister, the prime minister will not be elected,” he said.
Speaking at a program organised by the Reporter’s Club on Saturday, Chairman Yadav stressed the need of high level consensus among the political parties on power sharing, peace process and constitution writing. He claimed that election of the prime minister and the peace process will be expedited after forging the agreement on these key issues.
Responding to a query, he said, “Only three political parties are not the solution, so the participation of other political parties including the Madhesh-based ones in the problem solving is significant.”
