"Talks were positive"



Coordinator of the government-Maoist talk team, Home Minister Krishna P Sitaula said that the Maoists are eager to sit with leaders of the seven party alliance for talks. According to Himalkhabar.com, Situala said, "We are gearing up for talks between seven party leaders and the Maoists, which will take place very soon."

Similarly, Maoist leader Krishna Prasad Mahara, coordinator of government-Maoist talk team talking at an interaction program at the Reporter's Club today said the informal talks between government and Maoist supremo Prachanda has been positive as the recent round of talks have helped clear confusions.

Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula held talks with top leaders of the CPN (Maoist) at a village in the western district of Kaski Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the council of ministers decided to withdraw all the cases filed under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Control and Punishment) Ordinance (TADO) and not to file more cases under this ordinance. The TADO allowed security forces to detain those accused of terrorism for a year without taking them to court. With this decision the 350 Maoists detained under TADO and will be released soon. The TADO and was due to expire in October this year.
