I wonder if any of your other readers felt, like I did, that Hemlata Rai shied away from calling a spade a spade in "Shrinking Tundikhel" (#107). Yes, as she points out and the map amply demonstrates, the Tundikhel is a shadow of its former self. It is like Kathmandu has had one of its lungs amputated. But please don't blame the citizens of Kathmandu for encroachment. We know very well who has been encroaching into this public space over the past three decades: just look at who took the whole southern half.
