India urges all sides to show maturity

In what could be a hint that the blockade against Nepal will now be lifted, India welcomed the recent decisions by the Nepal government and urged ‘all political forces to now show necessary maturity and flexibility to find a satisfactory solution.”

India also said ‘a return to normalcy in Nepal would create a more secure and predictable climate for unimpeded commerce between the two countries’.

In a statement on Monday, India welcomed the Nepal government’s decision to amend the constitution to ensure proportional representation of Madhesi people in all state organs and delineation of electoral constituencies on the basis of population.

India also welcomed the Nepal government’s decision to demarcate provinces through ‘an appropriate arrangement on the basis of political consensus’ and ‘resolve other issues including citizenship through negotiations and consensus’.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs said the Nepal government’s decision was ‘positive steps’, urging  all political forces to ‘now demonstrate the necessary maturity and flexibility to find a satisfactory solution to the constitutional issues through constructive dialogues in an agreed timeframe’.

The statement read: We are confident that a return to normalcy in Nepal would create a more secure and predictable climate for unimpeded commerce between our two countries.

According to the statement, Foreign Affairs Minister Kamal Thapa has officially informed India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj about the decision taken by the Nepal government.

Madhesi Morcha has so far not agreed to accept the government’s proposal, but India’s fresh statement is likely to put pressure on it to reach a deal.

What else the puppet regimes can do? We never had a leader who thinks about the sovereign and the sovereignty of our beautiful “Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal”?

    1. Mess up your own country.
    2. Force a section of society to seek succor elsewhere, i.e. India.
    3. Blame both of them.
    4. Go kiss their feet.
    5. Call it Nationalism.

Interdependence is the reality and showing a sense of responsability. What is missing is in all this a real government in Nepal that suggests rioteers and the likes not to do so. Priorities must be at all times helping people in the cold, helping victimes of the earth quake young and elderly and in between. It is very hard to calm spirits in the face of this injustice, people desperately need time out from the psychiatric unit called Nepal. Over the period of 22 years I visit it is getting SO MUCH WORSE. Instead of cooperating, helping all people seem to do is fuss and make each other angry not useful
Please cooperate with important international aid organisations to deliver shelter and gas very fast to victims of the earthquake who have not yet died.
