While the Maoists are under pressure from the opposition to agree on unconditional government change, Friday’s meeting of the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) which is a loose coalition of the parties in government, has warned UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal against giving in to the opposition’s pressure.

The leaders of the parties in FDRA have told Dahal not to consent to NC led government unless the opposition agrees to incorporate the agreements and achievements of the dissolved CA. The leaders also criticised Dahal for requesting the President for an extension. “ The President’s call is unconstitutional. So, we don’t recognise the time frame prescribed by him.”, said Dalit Janajati Party leader Bishwendra Paswan.

At the Reporter’s Club in Kathmandu, Sadbhawana Party leader Rajendra Mahato has rejected the possibility of NC led government stating that the Madhesi Morcha will not support those against the Madhes Pradesh. He further stated, unless NC agrees on CA elections date, commits to agreements made by the last CA and agrees on fulfilling vacant posts in the constitutional bodies, there can be no agreement on their candidacy.

Earlier, President Ram Baran Yadav extended the deadline for forming the consensus government for another six days.
