Samsara Money Transfer is partnering with Al Zaman Exchange of Qatar. A memorandum of understanding was exchanged between Executive Vice-Chairman of Samsara Money Transfer Jeewan Babu Shrestha and Al Zaman’s Managing Director Abdullah Ahmed Al Zaman to seal the deal. Nepalis living in Qatar can now send money to their families through Al Zaman and cash can be collected from any of Samsara’s 1,800 agent locations across the country.

Nepal Investment Bank started its 44th branch in Barahathawa, Sarlahi. Chief Executive Officer of NIB, Jyoti Prakash Pandey inaugurated the branch during a function on 15 August. The opening of the new branch is part of NIB’s strategy to focus on inclusive banking and support the agricultural activities of the region reads the press statement.

Colour contest

Registration is now open for the 2nd NMB Bank Inter School Heritage Painting Competition 2013. The competition is scheduled to be held on 21 September and students from grade 8 to 10 are eligible to participate. According to the statement released by the bank, the aim of this event is to create awareness about the importance of heritage among younger Nepalis.

Cash cash

Pepsi celebrated the closing of its 20-20 campaign which ran from 16 June to 6 August by handing out prize money to 11 lucky winners. Rohit Kohli, Unit Manager for Varun Beverage (Nepal) and Gaurav Kumar, Country Manager for PepsiCo, gave away the grand prize worth Rs 2 million to Bal Kumari Basnet while the 10 daily winners took home Rs 100,000 each.
